Room of the Week: A Small Loft becomes a bathroom light Dazzling - With a baby on the way, the torque required to make more room in their first home, so they Brian Patterson designer hired to renovate their unfinished attic into a master suite and nursery. The architecture of the attic posed some challenges for the design of the bathroom, but Patterson did most of its charming slopes and corners, creating a timeless space filled with light. The renovation included period details that honor the history of the house while creating a bright room fee that has all the amenities of the couple's wish list.

Patterson has most low- ceilings by folding the tub, which requires less space in the corner. 'The locations in here feel quite charming; they give the room a cottage feel, "he said.

"We used traditional materials and basic architecture and allowed to dictate the experience," says Patterson. The shower Bungalow is nestled in a corner. Patterson has changed this hip dormer in a gear to match. The arched window is cleverly disguised in the full window on the front of the house (see below).

the architecture also inspired by classical era, such as subway tiles in the walk-in shower, hexagonal tiles on the floor and paneling on the walls, in honor of the house style of the 1930s . a clear glass shower door allows the rest of the room benefit from natural light from the window. Also, the bathroom is separated from the rest of the suite by French doors, which allow the room to enjoy all of the natural light.

the window on the far right is the one that houses the walk-in shower; the arched window between the basins is on the right side of the house. Patterson added components under the canopy outside to fool the eye into thinking there is a full window there. The house is now big enough for a family, with a relaxing stay for mom and dad.

BEFORE in addition to renovating the attic, Patterson added an attractive home. This included new windows and skylights, working on the trim around the door and hiding the odd trim on the left side of the house with shutters.

BEFORE the raw space challenged Patterson to take in everything about the couple's wish list, including his-and-her basins, a separate water closet for the toilet and a separate shower and bathtub.
